Once Upon a Time Season 7

On May 11th, Once Upon a Time season 7 was announced, but it seems like the show will be heading in a very different direction going forward. Several cast have announced their departures from the show including Ginny Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore, Emilie de Ravin, Rebecca Mader and Jennifer Morrison. Jennifer mentioned that she will be appearing in one episode during Once Upon a Time season 7. Also according to TVLine.com, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O’Donoghue will return to reprise their roles as Regina, Mr. Gold and Killian respectively. They’ll be joined by newcomers Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead) and Alison Fernandez (Jane the Virgin).

Renewals and Cancellations

In addition to Once Upon A Time season 7, there was tons of other renewal and cancellation announcements which impact shows filmed in Vancouver. The CW renewed iZombie for a fourth season, but cancelled freshmen series Frequency and No Tomorrow. After previously reducing its episode count, ABC cancelled Imaginary Mary after one season. Perhaps the most interesting news was about NBC’s time-travel drama Timeless. After keeping fans on the edge of their seats for months, the network announced it had cancelled the show on May 10th. In a strange turn of events, the decision was reversed and on May 13th it was renewed for a second season which will feature 10 episodes and air sometime in 2018 as per Eric Kripke.

Check out the new trailer and behind the scenes footage here:

Pilot Pickups

It was a big week for this year’s Vancouver/BC filmed TV pilots. Kicking off the excitement was ABC announcing the pickups of The Good Doctor with Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel) and The Crossing with Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club) and Sandrine Holt (House of Cards). ABC also shared first look teasers of both shows which can be seen in our 2017 TV Pilot Season article. The next to be picked up was NBC’s Reverie with Dennis Haysbert (The Unit, 24) and Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest). Rounding out the pickup hot streak was the CBS tech series Wisdom of the Crowd starring Jeremy Piven (Entourage).

To see a full list of the other pilots filmed/filming in Vancouver and BC this year, check out our 2017 TV Pilot Season Roundup.

Riverdale Season 2 Casting

As previously announced by TVLine.com, Riverdale found itself needing to recast the role of Reggie for season 2 due to scheduling conflicts with actor Ross Butler who has other commitments with 13 Reasons Why. At the time no replacement was announced, but last week TVLine.com revealed that the series had cast Charles Melton (American Horror Story, Glee) as his replacement.

Ross had some kind words to share via a Twitter video he posted following the announcements:

TVLine.com also revealed that Riverdale has promoted Casey Cott, who plays Kevin on the show, to series regular for season 2.

Other News

  • Production of Amazon’s The Man In The High Castle season 3 will be delayed by just over a month via DGCBC. New filming dates are June 26th to Nov 28th.
  • Deadline.com announced that Alana Boden had been cast in Lifetime’s I Am Elizabeth Smart which is currently filming in Vancouver and area. She joins Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale‘s FP Jones) and Deirdra Lovejoy (The Wire) which was previously pointed out HERE.
  • Isaiah Washington won’t be returning as a series regular in season 5 of The 100 via Entertainment Weekly.

Closing question: Let us know in the comments – will you be watching Once Upon a Time season 7?

2017 Arrowverse Crossover

During CW’S Upfront presentation last week, the network announced its plans for another mega Arrowverse crossover episode between the 4 Vancouver-filmed DCTV series: Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. The announcement wasn’t a surprise given that this season’s Arrowverse crossover event landed the network its most-watched week over the past 6 years. According to Deadline.com, the network revealed that this season’s Arrowverse crossover would land in November and will be another 4 night event. It was previously announced that Supergirl’s episode would be more engrained in the event, unlike this year’s version which saw merely a minute cast crossover at the end.

Supernatural Meets Scooby-Doo

If you asked me before which one of the Vancouver-filmed CW series would get a Scooby-Doo animated episode, I would have guessed Riverdale. But the Scooby Gang’s experience with ‘supernatural’ creatures makes it a good fit too. The animated episode which was announced during this week’s CW Upfronts presentation will appear during the upcoming 13th season of Supernatural. Of course, there will be an appearance of the Great Dane himself, alongside the regular Supernatural cast who will be playing animated versions of themselves.

I was interested to see what people thought about this idea; here’s what Twitter had to say:

Looks like the majority of people are exciting to see the episode. Let us know in the comments below what your thoughts are!

Overboard, Hit the Road Season 1, The Lost Wife of Robert Durst Start Filming

Overboard (Feature)

Overboard is a new spin on the 1987 comedy of the same name which starred Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. This time around, the movie will be toplined by Anna Faris (Mom, Scary Movie) and Eugenio Derbez (La familia P. Luche).

Role reversal remakes seem to be a popular trend of late, and this will be case with Overboard as well. In the original, Goldie Hawn played Joanna, an heiress who gets amnesia after falling off her yacht. Kurt Russell played a carpenter who once worked for her. He convinces Joanna that she is his wife. This time around it will be Eugenio’s character who comes from a rich family. He falls overboard from a yacht and is convinced by Anna’s character that he is her husband.

Thank you @lemon_buzz for breaking the news that Overboard would be coming to Vancouver to film!

Overboard will continue filming in Vancouver and British Columbia until July 14th.

During their tour of the country they endure the good, the bad and the ugly that comes along with being surrounded by family at all times.

The series was created by Jason Alexander along with Peter Tilden (EP of Bob Patterson) and Dean Craig (Writer of Death at a Funeral).

Hit the Road season 1 will continue filming in Vancouver and British Columbia until July 14th.

The Lost Wife of Robert Durst (aka Who Killed Kathie Durst?) (TV Movie)

You’ve probably seen, or at least heard of the widely popular HBO documentary series The Jinx, which chronicled the life of the infamous real estate heir Robert Durst. The chilling series also explored his involvement in several murders including, most famously, the one of his own wife Kathie Durst.

In The Lost Wife of Robert Durst, Lifetime explores the story from the perspective of Kathie and what really happened between her and Robert. The script is based on Matt Birkbeck’s book A Deadly Secret: The Bizarre and Chilling Story of Robert Durst.

According to Deadline.com, Kathie will be played by Katharine McPhee (Scorpion) and Robert will be played by Daniel Gillies (The Originals).

Durst is currently in prison on a weapons charge and is also awaiting prosecution on one of the other murders he may have been involved in.

The Lost Wife of Robert Durst will be filming in Vancouver and British Columbia until June 21st.

The Psych TV series filmed in Vancouver and area throughout its 8 seasons, which aired from 2006 to 2014. Back at the beginning of March, @lemon_buzz revealed that a Psych movie would be filming in Vancouver starting in May.

Psych Movie Cast & Story

According to USA Network, the 2 hour Psych movie special will see the return of Shawn Spencer (James Roday), Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill), Lassiter (Timothy Omundson), Juliet (Maggie Lawson), Henry (Corbin Bernsen) and Chief Vick (Kirsten Nelson). The script was written by Psych creator Steve Franks alongside James Roday. Set 3 years after the series finale, the group reunites during the holidays after a bad guy starts to target one of their own.

This was the announcement posted by the show’s official Twitter account on May 8th:

In an unfortunate turn of events, Timothy Omundson took to Twitter last week to reveal that he had suffered a “wee touch of a stroke”:

We haven’t seen any information to confirm whether this would have any impact on the Psych movie. As of the latest information available, production is set to begin today and continue in Vancouver and area until June 17th. It’s rumoured that some additional filming will be done in San Francisco, where Shawn, Gus and Juliet wound up after the series finale.

If you can’t wait until December, you can catch a couple of the cast in new projects. Maggie Lawson was in Vancouver a bit early for a lead role in Hallmark’s My Favorite Wedding which is set to premiere in June. Dulé Hill recently joined the cast of Suits Season 7 which is filming in Toronto until November and premieres July 12th on USA Network.

Distorted (aka Distortion) (Feature)

Another high profile feature has chosen the Okanagan as it’s filming location. Earlier this year, Anthem and Tiny House of Terror filmed in the area, and last year it saw productions such as Power Rangers, The Humanity Bureau and Drink Slay Love. The latest film to call the Okanagan home is Distorted, which stars Christina Ricci (Sleepy Hollow), John Cusack (Being John Malkovich) and BC’s own Brendan Fletcher (The Revenant).

The story, which was written by Arne Olsen, follows a 32 year old woman (Ricci) who suffers from both bipolar disorder and the loss of her child. After being plagued by her own memories and fears for her safety, she and her husband (Fletcher) decide to move into a high tech, high security apartment. After noticing some things out of the ordinary, she begins to suspect that there’s more to the building than meets the eye. She enlists the help of an investigative journalist (Cusack) who specializes in cyber conspiracy to uncover what’s really going on around them. What they find may have a much more widespread impact than they imagined.

Production kicked off yesterday in Kelowna near the Rotary Centre for the Arts and will film on Lakeshore Road on Tuesday – thank you @cookiekrumbas for the heads up about the article from Global with these details! Distorted will to continue filming in Kelowna, Vernon and area until June 26th and is expected to be released in 2018.

Cocaine Godmother (Lifetime TV Movie)

The Vancouver area seems to be Lifetime’s destination of choice when it comes to filming their true crime style original movies. The network has already filmed 3 other movies in this genre in Vancouver so far this year: Menendez: Blood Brothers, I Am Elizabeth Smart and The Lost Wife of Robert Durst which is currently filming.

Their latest to add to the growing list is Cocaine Godmother, a story based on the life of Griselda Blanco, an infamous Miami based drug lord in the 1970s and 80s. During her time in the trade, Blanco earned herself such nicknames as La Madrina, the Black Widow and the Cocaine Godmother; hence the movies title.

In addition to her involvement in the drug world, Blanco was suspected to have played a role in as many as 250 murders according to the Miami Herald. The Cocaine Godmother herself was murdered in 2012 after being deported back to Columbia.

In Cocaine Godmother, Blanco will be portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Ocean’s Twelve). No other cast have been revealed so far, but we’ll update this article as more information becomes available.

Thank you @lemon_buzz for the original scoop that Cocaine Godmother would be coming to Vancouver to film!

Cocaine Godmother will continue filming in Vancouver and British Columbia until June 30th and is expected to premiere in 2018 on Lifetime.

Josh Duhamel wrote the story for The Buddy Games alongside his friend Jude Wang and it was picked up by WWE Studios shortly thereafter. The film is a comedy about a group of friends being brought back together by “The Buddy Games” after a fallout from a prank gone bad.

Duhamel talked a bit more about the story in an interview with The Associated Press back in May. He explained that “The Buddy Games” is a yearly competition he does with his friends which includes paint-balling, go-cart racing, golf and “whatever”.

It hasn’t been revealed whether Duhamel will star in the film or if he’ll be in Vancouver during production, but if you hear otherwise, let us know in the comments!

Duhamel was in Vancouver in late 2015 for his role as Adam Rogers in This Is Your Death alongside Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad). The movie premiered this spring at South by Southwest. His latest Transformers movie The Last Knight premieres June 23rd.

Vancouver is also home to the popular WWE Studios movie series The Marine starring Mike “The Miz” Mizanin. The most recent of them, The Marine 5: Battleground, filmed in the area (primarily Squamish and Surrey) and was released on DVD March 28th. On a related note, WWE star Charlotte Flair appears to be in Vancouver for a role in the Psych movie which continues filming until June 17th. It turns out that their time with Dooley helps them work through their own challenges and even find love.

Deadpool 2 Filming Underway in Vancouver

After what seemed like endless delays, Marvel’s Deadpool 2 filming is officially underway in Vancouver and area. Ryan Reynolds revealed the first behind the scenes set photo on June 17th, which contained a mild spoiler. The photo, shown below, shows Reynolds fully suited up as Deadpool in one of his classic poses outside of Hatley Castle. Fans of the X-Men movie franchise will recognize the location as the setting for Professor Charles Xavier’s mansion.

Dropped by X-Mansion. Looked closely for Beast's lawn bombs before taking well deserved nap.

A post shared by Ryan Reynolds (@vancityreynolds) on

Hatley Castle is also a widely popular filming location outside of the X-Men universe as well. This summer it will be seen as one of the primary locations in Disney’s Descendants 2 and it has also been used as the Queen Mansion in the CW TV series Arrow.

As many will remember, the first Deadpool movie filmed in Vancouver and area in the spring of 2015 with some reshoots happening later that year before it was released in theatres in February of 2016. Although one of the movie’s most infamous locations was Vancouver’s Georgia Street viaduct (which was closed down for several days over the course of a month), some of the other locations used were:

  • The Cobalt on Main Street
  • Gore Street / Keefer Street in Chinatown
  • 126 Gore Street
  • 300 Block of Powell Street
  • Burrard Iron Works
  • Leeside Skatepark
  • No. 5 Orange
  • PNE
  • REVS Bowling & Entertainment (Burnaby)
  • Arch Alley

Deadpool 2 Filming Locations

Deadpool 2 filming signs (“DAISY”) were also spotted near the PNE last week by @pursuit23.

The Flash Season 4

Thanks to early renewals on all the Arrowverse shows, the writers certainly left us hanging on each of the finales. With Savitar now defeated and Barry in the speed force (albeit temporarily, I’m sure), what can we expect from The Flash season 4? After the first 3 seasons featured a speedster villain (Reverse Flash, Zoom, and Savitar), the showrunners made it clear long ago that wouldn’t be the case for this season. Thanks to a tweet from @FLASHProdOffice, we know the title of The Flash season 4 episode 1 will be “The Flash Reborn”.

After name-dropping the character a couple of times throughout the last few episodes, TVLine.com confirmed that the big bad for this season will in fact be will be Clifford DeVoe (aka The Thinker). We haven’t seen any official casting announcements for his role yet, but hopefully as filming gets underway the network will release the news.

Who would you like to see in the role of The Thinker in The Flash season 4? Let us know in the comments below!

It won’t be shocking to see the return of Keiynan Lonsdale, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, and Carlos Valdes in The Flash season 4, but some speculated that Tom Felton’s role was only a one season arc. However, he’d already returned to Vancouver in advance of production kicking off. Just Jared via @kingscourtgraph spotted Tom enjoying some Vancouver sunshine on June 27th. But will Julian get another chance with his love interest Caitlin this season? We’ll have to wait and see.

At the very least it won’t take long for us to see Caitlin back on our screens. Yesterday Danielle Panabaker tweeted a photo of her parking space at Vancouver Film Studios while they were in final prep for The Flash season 4 episode 1:

Although one of Tom Cavanagh’s characters, H.R. Wells, met his death during the season 3 finale, Barry asked his Earth 2 version (Harrison Wells) to stick around, so we’re sure to see more of him this season as well. After The Flash wrapped up production on season 3, Tom was back a couple weeks later for a role in a Hallmark original movie called Darrow and Darrow. Look for that on the Hallmark Channel later this year.

RELATED: Darrow and Darrow with Tom Cavanagh Starts Filming in BC

The Flash season 4 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver and area today until April 21st, 2018. It premieres Tuesday, October 10th at 8pm on The CW in the US and on CTV in Canada.

Arrow Season 6

Arguably the biggest series finale cliffhanger in the Arrowverse last season was Arrow. With Oliver and William on a boat off the coast of Lian Yu alongside the dead body of Chase, we’re left wondering who made it off the island following the explosion; and how. Did Team Arrow make it to the A.R.G.U.S. plane on the other side of the island, or was it too late? Did the landmine REALLY kill off Malcolm? So many questions to set us up for a good story to start off Arrow Season 6.

At the very least, it seems as though Dinah and Rene made it out unscathed; both actors (Juliana Harkavy and Rick Gonzalez) were promoted to series regulars earlier this spring as per The Hollywood Reporter. Dinah made her first appearance mid-way through season 5, whereas Rene was present from the season premiere onward. Both were technically only recurring characters last season despite heavy screen time. We’ll also be seeing a lot more of Katie Cassidy in her role as Black Siren. According to TVLine.com, she’s back as a series regular for season 6 after spending most of season 5 out of the limelight.

Josh Segarra, the actor behind last season’s big bag Adrian Chase, has been in Vancouver for a role on the upcoming Overboard movie remake as per @pursuit23. Although it would be convenient for him to make an appearance on this season of Arrow, it’s unlikely assuming Chase didn’t magically survive his self-inflicted handgun shot to the head.

After Arrow wrapped up season 5 in late April, series lead Stephen Amell hasn’t had much downtime. Since June 1st, he’s been in his hometown of Toronto filming an indie sci-fi feature called Code 8. He and his cousin, The Flash star Robbie Amell, are both starring in and executive producing the film which is based on a 10-minute short of the same name, also starring the cousins. Code 8 is scheduled to wrap up filming on July 14th.

Arrow season 6 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver on July 7th and will continue until April 26th, 2018. It premieres in it’s new day/time slot Thursday, October 12th at 9pm on The CW in the US. There’s a big caveat for those of us in Canada. According to a CTV press release, in Canada, Arrow season 6 moves to 9pm, but maintains its Wednesday position on CTV TWO. This is an interesting move; meaning that Canada would either get the episodes a full day ahead of the US, or we’ll be almost a week behind. We reached out to a rep with CTV TWO and can confirm that in Canada, Arrow will be airing each episode the week after the US. This is not exactly shocking as The CW likely wouldn’t want to risk having their ratings negatively impacted.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 3

Legends of Tomorrow may have the most-revealed upcoming season of all 4 shows. In a high level summary of Legends of Tomorrow season 3, the showrunners confirmed the return of Caity Lotz, Arthur Darvill, Victor Garber, Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Franz Drameh, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Nick Zano.

The returning cast will be joined by newcomers Tala Ashe (American Odyssey) and Billy Zane (Titanic) who will play Adrianna Tomaz (aka Isis) and P.T. Barnum respectively.

This time around the Legends will have to face the damage we saw at the end of last season which they caused by revisiting a point in the timeline they had already been. Their mission will be to restore the timeline without disrupting it further. However, their former teammate, Rip Hunter and his new “Time Bureau” gets in the way and causes the Legends to go their separate ways. That is, until Mick Rory crosses paths with one of them while on his much anticipated vacation in Aruba. With the gang back together, they’re determined to face the Time Bureau head-on and save the future their own way.

Thanks to @missalexad17 we know that one of the primary locations during Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 1 will be Central Park in Burnaby. According to the filming notice she found, the cast and crew are expected to be filming at the park from July 10th to 13th. Central Park is one of the most popular filming locations in the Lower Mainland of BC. In addition to being a location that Legends of Tomorrow has used several times before, in the past year the park has been used by Van Helsing, The Flash, Supernatural, Once Upon a Time, Arrow and more.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver and area July 7th until February 26th. It premieres Tuesday, October 10th at 9pm on The CW in the US and on CTV TWO in Canada.

Supergirl Season 3

Although Kara and team have put the threat of Queen Rhea behind them, their work is far from over. Recently added to the cast of Supergirl season 3 is Odette Annable (Pure Genius). According to Deadline.com, she’ll portray this season’s big bad, a recently well known Kryptonian and formidable villain from the comics lore, “Reign”.

In last season’s finale, Kara and Mon-El were torn apart after his pod was drawn into a wormhole, but mention of him in the network’s official summary of season 3 revealed that we haven’t seen the last of Chris Wood’s character yet. We’ll also see the return of the David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Mechad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan and Calista Flockhart.

Despite the undeniable on-screen chemistry and the proposal during the season 2 finale, we’ll see less of Alex and Maggie (aka Sanvers) this season. Floriana Lima (who plays Maggie) has stepped down from her series regular status. She’ll be back in some capacity though, because she’s still set as a recurring character as per TVLine.com.

Katie McGrath was introduced as Lena Luthor during the beginning of season 2 and recurred throughout the rest of the season. According to Deadline.com, we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in Supergirl season 3 as she’s been promoted to series regular.

Supergirl season 3 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver and area July 6th until April 28th, 2018. It premieres Monday, October 9th at 8pm on The CW in the US and on Showcase in Canada.

Once Upon a Time season 7, being dubbed a “reset” by many, will see the show going in a different direction. With 6 seasons centred around a core group of characters, the show saw some drastic changes to its cast lineup during its filming hiatus. Several fan favourite cast members announced their departures from the show including Ginny Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore, Emilie de Ravin, Rebecca Mader and Jennifer Morrison. However, the door may have been left open for some of them to return down the road. Jennifer has already mentioned that she will be appearing in one episode during Once Upon a Time season 7.

RELATED: Once Upon a Time Season 6 Filming at Central Park in Burnaby (Photos)

Thankfully, there will be some familiar faces when Once Upon a Time season 7 airs. Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O’Donoghue will return to reprise their roles as Regina, Mr. Gold and Killian respectively. They’ll be joined by newcomers Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead) and Alison Fernandez (Jane the Virgin). Andrew will play a grown up version of Henry who, according to showrunner Adam Horowitz, is “more than 10 years older than we last saw him”. Alison will play his daughter, Lucy Mills. Both were introduced during last season’s finale.

According to Deadline.com, Dania Ramirez (Entourage, Devious Maids) and Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice) have been cast as regulars for Once Upon a Time season 7 while Mekia Cox (Chigaco Med), Rose Reynolds (The World’s End) and Adelaide Kane (Reign) will recur.

What do you think of the direction of Once Upon a Time Season 7? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Once Upon a Time Season 7 Filming Locations

After spending a large portion of time filming in Steveston, the real life location of the show’s Storybrooke, it’s been circulated online that it won’t be a central location during the upcoming season. Despite that, it looks like it won’t be long before we see the small town return to our screens. Showrunner Adam Horowitz shared a sneak peek of the script for season 7 episode 1, titled Hyperion Heights, via his Instagram. As you can see from the picture, the setting for act 1 is in fact “Exterior Main Street Storybrooke”:

Here's a summer #onceuponatime #scripttease — that's all for now…! Lotsa work to do!

A post shared by Adam Horowitz (@adamhorowitzla) on

It should also be mentioned that a lot of the Storybrooke scenes are actually filmed on a soundstage at Bridge Studios in Burnaby, they’re not all filmed on location in Steveston.

Thanks to a heads up from @katmtan, we also know that one of the first filming locations this season will be near the exterior of Royal City Paws Pet Centre in New Westminster. The location has been dressed as “Radcliffe Pet Day Spa” for the show.

During the season 6 finale, we saw a new location for the show introduced, Seattle. If the show plans to spend more time there in the coming season, it should be quite easy to pull off. Vancouver has a long track record of being used as a stand-in for TV shows and movies set in Seattle. This includes the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, iZombie, Travelers, Death Note, and No Tomorrow to name a few.

RELATED: The Sweetest Christmas Starring Lacey Chabert Starts Filming in BC

Finn Conrad decides to take matters into his own hands to investigate a suspicious beneficiary following his father’s death. A nurse, who his father had known for less than 2 months, was left $50,000. Although it’s just before Christmas, Finn tracks down the woman, named Willa, to a bed and breakfast where she has recently taken over. He had expected the worst of Willa, assuming she had taken advantage of his father, however it turns out she’s not that bad afterall. But with Finn undercover, how will Willa feel when she eventually learns the truth about who he really is?

The O.C. star Autumn Reeser is set to play Willa, and she’ll be joined by David Haydn-Jones (The Last Kiss), who will presumably play Finn. Both actors are also known for roles on TV shows that film in Vancouver. Autumn appeared during the first season of E! series The Arrangement and David was seen in the previous season of Supernatural. Both shows also resume production in Vancouver this month. Hallmark fans will also recognize Autumn from Valentine Ever After, A Country Wedding, Midnight Masquerade and I Do I Do I Do.

A Bramble House Christmas will continue filming in Vancouver and British Columbia until July 28th.

As their curiosity grows, they focus their attention on an officer with the local police department who they believe is, in fact, a serial killer.

Determined to uncover the truth about Mr. Mackey, the group invokes every means necessary to prove he’s guilty; including the odd stakeout. As the friends start to get close to a conclusion, they learn that Mr. Mackey is onto them and things take a dangerous turn for the worse.

Supernatural Season 13 Starts Filming in Vancouver Area

$

Supernatural season 13 was announced by The CW back at the beginning of January alongside almost every one of the shows from the network that film in Vancouver. One of the most talked about parts of the season so far is its 16th episode. During The CW’s Upfront presentation this spring, the network announced that Supernatural season 13 will feature an animated Scooby-Doo themed episode. The episode will feature the Great Dane himself, alongside the regular Supernatural cast who will be playing animated versions of themselves.

In a poll we did back when the news was released, it looks like most Supernatural fans are looking forward to the episode.

According to EW, the season will also feature a backdoor pilot for a spin-off series dubbed Wayward Sisters. The story will be centred around Sheriff Jody Mills, who is played by Kim Rhodes. Mills will lead a group of young women who all have one thing in common: they’re all orphans as a result of supernatural tragedy. Together they will become a united front against supernatural beings.

So we know we’ll be seeing Jody return, as well as Sam and Dean, but the season 12 finale left a lot of questions to be answered beyond that. One notable cast departure that was since announced was Mark Sheppard, who plays Crowley. The actor announced via Instagram that he was leaving the show back on May 23rd. On a more positive note, it seems safe to say that Supernatural season 13 will see the return of Castiel, played by Misha Collins. In a video recorded at the Jus In Bello Convention and uploaded to YouTube by Brielle, Jared dropped Misha’s name in reference to some audio recordings they had completed for the animated episode.

Supernatural Season 13 Filming Locations

Thanks to @hockeywest and @lemon_buzz for posting a tip for one of sthe first filming location of Supernatural season 13; just outside of Britannia Beach. The same location was used during the season 12 finale – here’s a pic Jensen posted from the location back at that time:

SIX Season 2 (History Channel TV Series)

After filming its first season in Wilmington, North Carolina, History Channel’s Navy SEAL drama SIX season 2 starts filming in British Columbia. The first week of filming will be spent primarily in the Pemberton area including Van Loon Farm on Pemberton Meadows Road and near Duffey Lake Road.

The Exorcist – Season 2 (TV Series)

After filming its first season in Chicago, The Exorcist season 2 has relocated to Vancouver and area. The series is based on the 1973 classic horror film of the same name by William Peter Blatty.

During their Comic Con panel last weekend, the show runners revealed that The Exorcist Season 2 will be set in the Pacific Northwest, near Seattle specifically. This explains the show’s need for a change of scenery; after all, it seems there’s no better place to stand-in for the Seattle area.

In addition to a new setting for The Exorcist season 2, there will be a few new faces as well. Deadpool star Brianna Hildebrand, John Cho (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Zuleikha Robinson (Hidalgo) all joined the cast over the last few week. Alfonso Herrera, Kurt Egyiawan and Ben Daniels are expected to reprise their roles as Father Tomas Ortega, Father Bennett and Father Marcus Keane respectively.

The Exorcist season 2 is scheduled to continue filming in Vancouver and British Columbia until November 14th and premieres Friday, September 29th on Fox in the US and CTV in Canada.

Miss Christmas (TV Movie)

In Washington, DC, Holly Kuhn is known as ‘Miss Christmas’. She’s in charge of finding the perfect evergreen to become The National Tree for a Christmas festival held in the city. During this year’s pursuit, Holly finds herself drawn to a small town after receiving a letter from a boy claiming that he knew just where to find the tree she sought after.

When she arrives, Holly discovers there’s only one thing standing between her and the perfect tree: Sam, the boy’s uncle. Sam owns the land where the tree is standing. Despite Holly’s best intentions, the tree has sentimental value to Sam and he’s reluctant to let it go. Eventually, Holly begins to fall in love with Sam, and together they learn that this tree is just what they need to bring magic to the holidays.

There hasn’t been any official casting announcements so far, but we’ll update this article as more information becomes available.
